Emotional Changes After Bariatric Surgery

While bariatric surgery can make so many positive changes in your life it is important to keep in mind to be realistic about what to expect from surgery.  Surgery does not make a bad marriage better, actually the divorce rate is high among those who have the surgery.  There are also jealously issues that you may encounter.  This can be from loved one of friends and can be difficult to cope with.  There is also a period of time of rediscovering yourself.  After weight loss there are things that you will be able to do that you may not have been able to do for years.  Your energy level may also increase and your family may remain complacent.  Surgery is not an easy way out like many out there think.  It is a journey to better health and re-discovery.  Some times the road can get rough and at that time individual therapy would be indicated.
